BOXER and CLOVER
Represent the long suffering workers and peasants of the world. The are shown by Orwell to be big, strong, patient and decent-however not very bright. Boxer believes in the revolution: "Napoleon is always right"; while Clover is a motherly protective figure who experiences the sadness of the failed revolution
FARMER JONES
drunken, negligent leader that represents the dictator, Czar, but he also stands for any government that falls due to mismanagement and corruption.

NAPOLEON
"large, fierce looking, black Berkshire Boar, with a reputation for getting his own way" He gets his way through POWER, not ideas. Napoleon represents JOSEPH STALIN because he was a dictator. (Napoleon Bonaparte was another dictator who creaed his own personal empire in the French Revolution)
MOLLIE

MURIEL
The goat who reads better than Clover and often reads things like the Commandments out loud
BENJAMIN
The gloomy donkey, cynical, like Eeyore from Whinnie the Pooh. Skeptical and pessimistic, but VERY loyal and dedicated to Boxer. He works hard like Boxer, however no more than is required of him. He DOES NOT believe in the Revolution, he only thinks life is too hard.
THE PIGOENS
Spread the word of the Rebellion beyond the farm, like many Communits spread the doctine of the revolution beyond the boundaries of the Soviet Union.
SQUEALER
"short, fat, twinkle-eyed and nimble, a brilliant talker". VERY PERSUASIVE. He convinces the animals that all the changes are necessary for well being of them all. The PROPAGANDA machine that spreads the big lie and makes people believe in it.
