- Dravidians
- Small-framed, dark-skinned people from Southern India. Mysterious; no one knows much about them.
- Aryans
- Lighter-skinned, migrated from the west at the same time as the collapse of the Harrapan Civilization(Indus River Valley Civilization). Brought with them, the Rig Vedas.
- Brahma
- THe Creator
- Vishnu
- THe Preserver
- Shiva
- The Destroyer
- Ksatriya
- The Warrior/King class. Gained more power than the Brahmins over time, but they learned to get along peacably.
- Vaisya
- The tradesmen class; merchants and businessmen.
- The Untouchables
- Were not even considered a class; were treated like lepurs.
- Sudras
- Literally means, "servants".
- Brahmin
- THe priest class. Were thought to have been endowed with unearthly powers, and being able to be connect with the gods.
- The Vedas
- Holy texts that serve as the basis of Hindu. Were written in Sanskrit, and introduced by the Aryans. Focused on Nature, and were fairly speculative.
- THe Upanishads

Finished what the Rig Vedas started. Were much more speculative; the underlying universal theme was to find the difference between truth and what we see as truth. WHat's the truth? Is there something more? Searched for the UNIVERSAL TRUTH. Utilized the Onion Theory; peel away layers till you get to the core; Look within.
Tried to express what cannot be expressed. - Maya
- The world of phenomena; everything that you experience in this physical world.
- Atman
- Your soul.
- Samsara
- The wheel of reincarnation.
- Karma
- Literally means "deeds or actions". Questions if we are doing the right thing at the right time, and if so, we are enlightened and are born out of the wheel of reincarnation.
- Moksha
- WHen one is liberated, freed from the wheel of reincarnation.
- Yoga
- Union of yourself and the universal soul, God. System of mystical training.
- Mysticism
- Belief that one can connect with God.
