- An electronic message sent from one person's computer to another person's computer where it is stored until read by the recieving person.
- Notebook/laptop computer
- similar to a microcomputer however it is smaller and portable

- Information entered into the computer to be processed that consits of text, numbers, sounds, and images

- any electronic handheld device that functions as a mobile phone as well as a personal digital assistant

- a device that focuses on handling a particalular type of infortmation and related task. typical devices could be an ipod or mp3 player a hand held gaming consle and so on.

- computer that receives a data transmission
- Hardware
- The tangilbe physical computer equipment that can be seen and touched.
- Supercomputer
- largest and fastest computers capable of storing and prossing tremendous volumes of data
- Personal Digital Assisant (PDA)
- also called a palm top computer a small protable computer
- Infortmation appliance

- Mainframe computers
- large powerful computers that are used for centralized storage processing and management of very large amount of data.

- sometimes called a personal computer used at home or at the office by one person can fit on top or under a desk
