- Paraclete
- another name for the Holy Spirit that means advocate, defender, or consoler
- counsel (right judgement)
- helps us form our conscience in light of Church teaching. We do this by praying and consulting other people before deciding on moral issues
- wisdom
- looking at a reality from Gods point of view. i.e.) praying before making decisions and seeking guidence from those with more experience
- Pentecost
- originally a Jewish harvest festival; celebrated 50 days after Passover. The day the Holy Spirit descended on Christ's disciples hiding in the Upper room in Jerusalem.
- fire
- "Light of the World"
- finger
- the finger of God that writes the divine law on our hearts
- fruits of the Holy Spirit
- perfections that result from living in union with the Holy Spirit
- Piety (reverence)
- Respect we show to the Lord through praise and worship. Respecting the dignity and worth of others is another important expression of this gift.

- oil blessed by the Bishop on Holy Thursday at the Chrism Mass
- tongues of fire
- enables us to speak
- knowledge
- the grace to see how God is working our lives, especially in the areas of great moral decisons
- hand
- Jesus healed through touch. This is to signify the giving of the Holy Spirit

- represents both death and life

- "nature" or "essence"
- ruah
- Hebrew word that Old Testament biblical offers often use. Literally means wind or breath
- fortitude (courage)
- the strength to follow our own convitions in the face of peer pressure. It also involves openess to suffering for the Lord.
- person
- distinctions among the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit
- Fear of the Lord (wonder and awe)
- Helps us show concern about the reality of sin in our life and to avoid anything that might alienate us from God and others.
- gifts of the Holy Spirit
- an outpuring of God's gifts that enable us to live a Christian life.
- grace
- God's gift of friendship and life that enables us to share his life and love
- consubstantial
- having the same nature as God
- theophany
- an appearence or manifestation of God to humans
- charism
- a special gift of the Holy Spirit that helps us build up the Church, Christ's body.

- reveal the saving God, yet veil the divine glory

- relation
- designates that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are distinct because of their relationships
- understanding
- taking the time to uncover the deeper meaning of faith and the mysteries of Gods magnificent creations
- tongues
- the many languages of the various people who were gathered there
- Divine Mercy
- When the soldier stabbed Jesus with a spear, blood and water gushed out of the wound. This symbolizes the life and waters of the Holy Spirit flowing out to the world.
