- Passive Restraint Device
- Restraint device, such as an air bag or an automatic seat belt, that works auomatically.
- Yield
- Allow others to use the intersection before you do.
- Basic Speed Law
- You may not drive fatster than is safe and prudent for existing conditions, regardless of posted speed limits.
- Solid Yellow Line
- Divides traffic moving in two directions. Cannot pass.
- Separate the Hazards
- Process of adjusting the speed of a vehicle to handle one hazard at a time when two or more hazards threaten a driver.
- Regulatory
- Control traffic. Legally have to follow. Usually vertical rectangle. Red, black and white.
- Minimum Speed Limit
- Speed limit to keep traffic moving safely by not allowing drivers to drive slower than a certain speed.
- Point of No Return
- Point beyond which a driver can no longer stop safely without entering the intersection.

- IPDE Process
- Organized process of seeing, thinking, and responding that includes the steps of identifying, predicting, deciding, and executing.
- Space Cushion
- Open area around a vehicle consisting of adequate following distance between it and the vehicles ahead and behind, plus swerve paths to left and right.
- Active Restraint Device
- Restraint device that you have to engage.
- Blind Spot
- Area that mirrors cannot show.
- Guide Signs
- Green, Brown, or Blue. Direction, Destination, Distance, Points of Interest, Driver Services. Horizontal rectangle.
- Warning Signs
- Diamond shape, yellow or orange. Help to warn of upcoming situations to avoid surprise situations.
- Solid White Line
- Divides traffic moving in the same direction, cannot pass. Stop Line. Lane boundaries.
- Broken White Line
- Separates traffic moving in the same direction, Can Pass
- Broken Yellow Line
- Divides traffic moving in two directions, Can Pass.
- Implied Consent
- anyone who receives a driver's license automatically consents to be tested for blood-alcohol content and other drugs if stopped for suspicion of drug use while driving
