- Compares the ability of men and women to participate in economic and political decision making.

- The percentace of people in a country that can read and write.

- Primary Sector

Workers that directly extract materials from the Earth through, agriculture, and sometimes by fishing, mining and forestry.
- Productivity
- The value of a particular product compared to the amount of labor needed to make it.
- Secondary Sector
- Includes manufacturers that process, transform, and assemble raw materials into useful products.

Structural Adjustment Program
- A program that LDCs are required to adopt after receiving aid from MDCs. Like raising costs of thing and changing who controls companies and other things.
- Tertiary Sector
- Involves the provision of goods and services to people in exchange for payment. (Banking, law, education, etc.)
