- Processes of converting nitrogen gas into ammonia
- Biosphere
- Part of erath in which life exists including land water and air or atmosphere
- Transpiration
- Loss of water from a plant through it's leaves.
- Ecology
- Scientific study of intreactions omong organisms and between organisms and there environment.
- Limiting nutrient
- Single nutrient that eather is scarce or cycles very slowly, limiting the growth of organisms in a ecosystem.
- Species
- Group of similar organisms that can breed and produce fertle offspring.
- Biome
- Group of ecosystems that have the same climate and simular dominant communities
- Ecosystem
- Collection of all of the organisms that live in a particular place, together with there nonliving environment.
- evaporation
- processes in which water changes from a liquad into an atmospheric gas
- Population
- Group of individuals of the same species that live in the same aera.
- Primary Productivity
- Rate at which organic matter is created by producers in an ecosystem
- community
- Assemblage of different populations that live together in a defined area.
- Nutrient
- Chemical substance that an organism requires to live
- Algal bloom
- An immediate increase in the amount of algae and other producers that results from a large imput of a limiting nutrient.
- Denitrification
- Converson of nitrates into nitrogen gas.
- Biogeochemical cycle
- Processes in which elements, chemical compounds, and other forms of matter are passed from one organism to another and from one part of the biosphere to another.
