- Spiral
- also known as roll. keeps the plane from spinning or the fuselage from rolling the dihedral helps control this
- Process of Lift
- faster moving air has low air pressure slow moving air has high air pressure this creates lift
- Elevator
- a moveable hinged tail control airfoil that causes the planes nose to go up or down
- Rudder
- a moveable airfoil located at the rear stabalizer and used fro controlling direction left or right
- Flap
- a moveable airfoil hinged by the trailing edge of the wing closer to the fuselage used for increasing lift or drag
- Dihedral
- an incline wing angle from the center of the wing where the fuselage meets this angle helps to stabalize the plane and create lift
- Directional
- also known as Yaw. keeps the plane from going from going left or right the rudder and vertical Stabalizers help control this
- Pitch
- keeps the planes nose from going too far up or too far down elevators and horizontal stabalizers help control this
- Camber
- the slight curve of airfoil from the leading edge to the trailing edge
- Airfoil
- a surface part (wing, rudder, or tail) that is flat or curved creating air movement in a specific direction designed to keep the palne up and control movment through the air
- Stabalizer
- any horizontal or vertical airfoil in the tail section used fro keeping the planes flight steady the rudder and elevator are hinged to this
- Fuselage
- the body of the plane
- Aileron
- hinged main wing surfaces that help control banking for a turn
- Thermal
- rising column of warm air caused by eneven heating of the earth of the sea by the sun
