- Constant
- in a polynomial, a term that does not contain a variable is a constant
- Slope
- the slant of a line that describes steepness.
- Hypotenuse
- in a right triangle, it is the longest side which is opposite the right angle
- Rational number
- any number written as a quotient of two integers where the denominator is not zero.
- Formula
- an equation that shows the relationship between two or more quantities
- Domain
- the set of the first coordinates
- X-Y Intercepts
- the x and y-coordinates of the point where a line crosses the x or y-axis.
- Scientific notation
- the first function is greater than or equal to 1 and less than 10, and the second factor is a power of 10
- Adjacent angles
- angles that share a vertex and a side but have no interior points in common.
- Range of a function
- all y values are out put variables
- Linear equation
- an equation where all of its solutions lie on a line
- Scatter plot
- a graph that displays two sets of data as ordered pairs
- Pyramids
- a solid with triangular faces that meet at a vertex
- Term
- a number, a variable, or the product of a number and a variable
- Pythagorean Theorem
- in any right triangle, the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse
- Cones
- figure that has exactly one circular base and one vertex
- Legs of a right triangle
- the two sides that form the right angle
- Surface area
- the sum of the areas of its surface
- Prism
- a solid with two parallel and congruent polygonal faces called bases. A prism is named for the shape of its base
- Standard form
- a number written using digits and place value is in standard form
- Coefficient
- the numerical factor in any term of polynomial
- Linear inequality
-
an inequality that can be written y
< > - Cylinder
- a figure that has two bases that are parallel
- Slope intercept form
- an equation written in the form y=mx+b is in slope-intercept form. The graph is a line with slope m and y-intercept b.
- Distance formula
- D=RT
- Lateral area
- the sum of the areas of the lateral surfaces of a solid.
- Solids
- three dimensional figures are objects that do not lie in a plane. They have length width and height
