Factors that Influence Quality of Aging Process
I. Things you can't control -hereditary -gender -ethnicity II. things you can control -lifestyle -education -medical care -economic level -health status -presence of illnesses or disabilities
Physica changes that occur when aging
-decrease/loss of pain and touch sensitivity -lungs lose elasticity (harder to breath) -decrease in cardiac output -decrease/lose hearing/seeing -decrease in response/recovery rate -lessened ability to adjust to temperature changes -increase tendency to fall b/c of shorten gait, widened base, and forward lean
