- a multimovement work for soloist(s), orchestra, and basso continuo, that was based on an a preexisting chorale or biblical text, Wachet Auf
- Haupt gottesdienst
- the early afternoon service of the Luteran church in which a cantata was performed before and after a sermon, the sermon had the same theme as the cantata, Wachet Auf
