copy deck
- diverging lens
- the lens at the right is thinner in the middle and the rays of light are made to diverge
- converging lens
- the lens is thicker in the middle and the rays of light are made to converge.
- real image
- the image formed by a single converging lens is upside down
- virtual image
- the image formed by a single converging lens is right side up and look as if they came from the image position.
- angular magnification
- depends on how the glass and the object are held relative to the eye.
- focal point
- the point at which a beam of light converges.
- focus
- the point at which a beam of light converges.
- principle axis
- the line joining the centers of curvature of its surfaces.
- astigmatism
- eye defect where the cornea is more curved in one direction than the other. fixed with cylindrical corrective lenses that have more curvature in one direction than in another.
- aberration
- distortions in an image.
- chronic aberration
- the result of different speeds of light
