- Where items exist in our database.
- UNIX
- An operating system. Created in 1969 by Bell Labs.
- Switcheroo
- Shipment that contains an item and p-slip that do not match.
- Sweeper
- FC associate who problem solves any items mis-received or mis-shelved during Rambo process.
- SOP
- Standard Operating Procedure.
- SLAM
- Scan | Label | Apply | Manifest - automated tool
- Rebin
- Packing station in manual FCs where multi-item shipments are sorted and matched to their pslips.
- P-slip
- Invoice included with every customer shipment that leaves the FCs.
- Prime Bin
- Bin location originally used exclusively in the automated FCs, but now used in all the FCs.
- Problem Solver
- Skilled FC associate designated to resolve problems with inventory or customer shipments.
- Problem Solving
- Shipment Condition 15. Shipments with missing items move into this condition.
- Problem-Receive
- Items that have been incorrectly shipped to us.
- Shipment Method
- Shipping company (UPS, DHL, etc.) and service (2ND, NEXT, etc.) used in a shipment.
- SKU
- Stock Keeping Unit
- Throughput
- Output per unit of time or the reciprocal of the cycle time.
- Batch
- Grouping of customer shipments for purposes of picking and packaging.
- Full Case
- Conveyable but non-sortable item that can ship in its own box or is packed inside a separate shipping carton.
- CTQ
- Critical to Quality
- Cycle Time
- Total process time required for a specific activity to occur.
- Non Con
- Non-conveyable - Item that is too large, heavy or cumbersome to ship through normal conveyor-driven processes.
- Drop Shipper
- Third party distribution center with whom we contract to ship products directly to our customers.
- FUD
- Fillable Unfilled Demand - Inventory for customer owned orders that is not in a pickable location.
- FIFO
- First In First Out - Method of process work in order of age - oldest to newest.
- HAZMAT
- Hazardous Material - Anything labeled by the US Dept of Transportation as posing a risk to handlers.
- Inbound
- Process of bringing inventory into the FC, both physically and virtually.
- Outbound
- Process of shipping inventory from the FCs.
- Pallet Flow
- Type of prime bin location, usually holds two pallets of freight in one bin location.
- Picked Short
- Virtual location for items that are found to be missing from their bin locations.
- Random Stow
- General picking modules/bays used in both the manual and automated FCs.
- UPC
- Universal Product Code
- Pick Miss
- Item goes from prime bins to misplaced by pickers, That's called pick miss
