- 1938-banned child labor&established National minimum wage: $0.40/hr. Maximum 40hr week. Helped poor working class

- WWI veterans who wanted their 20yr moratorium pay wage upfrount. Hoover didnt want to provide it. Sent armed troops to break up riots.

- leant loans to banks, small corps. Brought $1.2bill back into economy. Hoover called for tax-many ppl=disatisfied.

- May 1933-w/this former social worker, it distributed $5mill+ to unemployed for their well-being. New Deal-FDR

- May 1933-Made cheap electricity w/hydroelectric plant and provided for poorer families in TN region.

- Proposed Social Security idea. Critic of FDR.

- March 1933-employed jobless. Worked on:reforestation,park maintenance,erosion control. New Deal-FDR

- 1937-Wagner=Sponser. Rasied $500mill for urban slum clearance & public housing projects

- May 1933-Stock companies had to give info about stock securites so ppl would know what they were investing in.

- Jan 1935-Sept1935- Reorganized fed program for jobless relief. Assistance to rural poor,Supp for org labor, social welfare benefits for elder, stricker business reg, heavier taxes on wealthy.

- National Recovery Administration
- 1993-Hugh Johnson=head. Wanted to promote recovery-stop wage cuts, falling prices, layoffs. FDR

- March 9-June 16,1933-Cong enacted 15 measures for FDR's New Deal
- Agriculture Adjustment Act
- May 1933-because of overproduction during WWI, many products=sold for low price. Gov killed/destoroyed certain products to raise price of other products. Ppl starving FDR

- Idea that gov had to give $ to ppl so that they spend it, start $ circulating. New Deal never embraced it
