- Anus
- The posterior opening of the digestive tract
- Cerebral Ganglion
- One of the pair of nerve cell clusters that serve as a brain at the anterior end of some invertebrates
- Cloaca
- In animals, a common chamber into which the digestive, reproductive and excretory systems enter
- Cuticle
- In parasitic roundwords, a noncellular layer that protects the worm from the hosts digestive and immune system
- Cyst
- A resistant, thick-walled structure that encloses and protects a dormant organism
- Elephantiasis
- A condition of swollen lymphatic vessels in the limbs cause by a parasitic fliarial worm
- Filarial Worm
- One of the variety of parasitic roundworms that cause elephantiasis in humans and heartworm disease in dogs
- Flame Cell
- In a flatworm, a cell that collects excess body water and transfers it to the excretory system
- Flatworm
- The common name for any of the dorso ventrally flattened worms of the phylum Platyhelminthes
- Fluke
- A leaf-shaped parasitic flatworm
- Hookworm
- A parasitic roundworm that feeds on its hosts blood by cutting into the intestinal wall
- Mastax
- A muscular organ that breaks up food in fotifers
- Pharynx
- In flatworms, a muscular tube that leads to the gastrovacular cavity
- Pinworm
- Roundworm parasite taht lives in the lower intestine of humans but causes no serious disease
- Primary Host
- The host from whcih the adults of a parasite derive their nourishment and in which sexual reproduction occurs
- Proglottoid
- One of the many body sections of a tapeworm; contains reproductive organs
- Rotifer
- A small, aquatic invertebrate with a crown of cilia surrounding its mouth
- Roundworm
- A worm in the phylum Nematoda with a long, slender body that tapers at both ends, such as hook worms and pinworms
- Schistosomiasis
- A disease caused by a parasitic blood fluke of the genus Schistosoma
- Scolex
- A knob-shaped organ bearing hooks and suckers; lies at the anterior end of a tapeworm
- Tapeworm
- A parasitic flatworm that lives in the vertebrate intestine
- Tegument
- A continuous sheet of fused cells that covers the external surface of a fluke or tapeworm and protects the worm from the hosts digestive and immune system
- Trichonosis
- A disease caused by a parasitic roundworm of the genus Trichinella; characterized by muscle pain and stiffness
- Uterus
- A female reproductive structure where eggs are stored or fertilized or where development of the young occurs
