- fragmentation of the tibial tuberosity
-
if there is associated soft tissue swelling in a young adolescent, it is OSGOOD SCHLATTER. There must be associated soft tissue swelling.
The condition is osteochondrosis of the tibial tuberosity ossification centers.
Complications are nonunion of the fragments, patellar subluxation, chondromalacia patella, and avulsion of the patellar tendon - Wavy syndesmophytes in spine and calcification of tendons/ligaments in pelvis and trochanteric regions.
- DISH can have enthesopathy, so dont let that fool you into thinking you are seeing AS
- Spine calcs in AS
-
Syndesmophytes = CALCIFICATION IN THE ANNULUS FIBROSIS.
Also see calcification in the interspinous ligaments - DDx for widened intercondylar notch
-
Hemophilia
Septic arthritis
Sometimes JCA
DONT SAY PVNS OR SYNOVIAL OC, because erosions do NOT occur in the knee with this because the knee bursae are capacious - Cause of intercondylar notch widening
- Hemorrhage into the origins of the cruciate ligaments
- Hemophiliac pseudotumor
-
It is an intraosseous or subperiosteal hemorrhage which looks like a LYTIC EXPANSILE PERIPHERAL LESION.
Occurs most commonly at the Ilium, femur and tibia - Hemophilia diagnosis
-
Findings occur because of chronic irritation by blood products which cause synovial hypertrophy which causes articular cartilage erosion and subchondral sclerosis.
ON MRI THERE IS HEMOSIDERIN DEPOSITION, SO THAT THE DDX IS ALWAYS BETWEEN PVNS AND HEMOPHILIA!!! - What is Poland syndrome associated with?
- Syndactyly
