- Idol
- Anyone or anything you think is more important than God
- Sacrilege
- Violation of and irreverence toward a person, a place, or an object that is sacred because of public dedication to God
- Occult
- Refers to beliefs and practices that are not divine but seek to control powers beyond human nature
- Astrology
- Belief that the sun, moon, planets, and stars control our lives
- Spiritualism
- Attempting to contact (and thus have power over) the souls of the dead or spirits of the other world by means of seances or Ouija boards
- Witchcraft
- The attempt to use magical formulas such as spells or chants by people who exercise power that belongs only to God
- Satanism
- Worship of the devil, or worship of what that which is contrary to God.
- Cult
- System of misguided religious beliefs that centers around a strong religious leader
- Atheism
- Sin against faith, rejects or denies the existence of God
- Despair
- Sin against hope, when people don't have enough trust in God's goodness and mercy
- Presumption
- Sin against hope, people presume to be able to save themselves or assume that God will forgive them even if they don't repent of their sins

- Faith, hope, love
- Sacrifice
- Gift given to God that is a sign of all the attitudes of prayer--> adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, supplication
- Vow
- Free promise made to God to perform a good act not required for salvation
- Oath
- Calling on God to witness to the truth of what one says
- Profanity
- Careless, casual, and inappropriate use of God's name
- Blasphemy
- Words that insult the goodness of God or show hate for God
- Cursing
- Calling on God to bring evil or harm to someone or something
- Swearing
- Cursing and language that insults God are commonly called this
- Vulgar language
- Offensive and "dirty" words that show irreverence and disrespect for the human body
- Eucharist
- Contains all forms of prayer and is the ultimate sacrifice
