A comparison using " like" or " as". "cold as ice"

A central message or moral through a literary work.

A figure of speech where one thing is spoken to seem like another. "He is a nut"
Blank Verse
Poetry in unrhymed iambic pentameter
Stanza
A formal division of lines in a poem, often separated by spaces named according to number of lines.
Sonnet
A fourteen line lyrical poem, usually in rhymed iambic pentameter
Speaker
The imaginary voice assumed by the writer of a poem. Person, thing or abstraction.
Imagery
Descriptive or figurative language to create word pictures by details in five senses.
