- Top
- the align value of top aligns the top of the image with the top of the tallest item in the current text line.
- () Image
- inserts graphic, photograph, line art, or other image into screen display.
- HSPACE
- the horizontal space associated with the left and right margins.
- Transparent GIF
- in which the background is invisible, so the image seems to be painted directly on the web page.
- Lowsrc
- attribute will speed up the display of the document to the user because the browser will display the lowsrc image the first time it encounter the tag
- Align
- attribute allows some control over where the image is placed on the screen, with the float style providing similar positional control. is commonly used attribute within paragraphs, headings, and other tages.
- Images
- refer to a whole range of picture-like elements, including thins as scanned photographs, icons, illustrations, drawings, and animations.
- Margin
- is a body element that can increase the sides of the margins.
- BMP (Bit-Mapped Picture)
- is a standard Windows image format that uses a filename extension.
- PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
- it supports both 8 and 24 bit color. It uses a lossless compression.
- Animated GIF
- in which a series of still GIF images are quickly changed to create simple animation.
- Middle
- align value of middle aligns the middle of the image with the bottom, or baseline, of the text (not the middle of the text)
- src (source)
- is one of two required attributes of the tag. This attribute tells the browser where to find the image that is to be inserted into the page.
- Image Sizes
- is important to understand how quickly an image can become a large, slow, trouble some impediment to your users.
- Floating Images
- is often handy to be able to place an image at the margin and then flow the text next to the image rather than imbedding the image in a single line.
- Right
- places the image or text at the right side of the web page.
- Height and Width
- these attributes that provide an easy way to create the appearance of a image so that the computer does not have to calculate the image on its own. but instead is given percise sizes.
- Baseline
- the text is the imagiary line that runs across the bottom of the letters, like the point of the v and the bottom, or serifs, of the x, not counting the descenders, like the tails of y or g.
- SVG (Scalar Vector Graphic)
- is physically small, while the image is easily scaled to be either larger or smaller without losing clarity. This graphic format includes text, and designers can make these images interactive by allowing users to rotate them with a mouse.
- JPEG (Joint Photographics Experts Group)
- is a better choice because it can support either 8-bit or 24-bit color.
- Thumbnail Image
- is a very small version of the actual image.
- Open Standard
- means that anyone is free to use it, and no single body or organization has fixed all the parameters of the standard.
- TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)
- are commonly used to exchange documents between different computer platforms.
- Vector Graphics
- are based on mathematically determined points, lines, and curves rather than a grid of pixels.
- Inline Images
- there are no forced line breaks, an inline image appears like any other page elements, in line with the text, and after the word "parrot," as we might expect
-
(
)No Line Break( ) - overrides browser's ability to wrap text to the next line.
- Clear
- attribute can be set to left, right, or all in order to do just that.
- External Image
- it links to a page that contains the image instead of putting it on the home page.
- Alt (alternate)
- is the other required attribute. it provides a text-based description of the image.
- VSPACE
- the vertical space represented by the top and bottom margins are set in pixels.
- Bottom
- align value of bottom aligns the bottom of the image with the bottom, or baseline, of the text.
- Progressive Image
- is saved in layers. you have a choice of saving three to seven layers.
- Rollovers
- is a small image that loads or changes when the mouse pointer moves over (rolls over) a particular part of the screen.
- Flood Filling
- or extreme image expansion here you create a large colored area by using the height and width attributes to expand a very small image across the screen.
- Plug-in
- is any software package that works with a browser.
- Left
- place the image or text at the left side of the web page.
- Image Editors
- drawing packages allow a file to be saved in any of several formats, so the aspiring artist can usually save a file in GIF, JPEG, or PNG formats.
- Lossless Compression
- this results in a lager file, but the image quality does not degrade when it is compressed and then uncompressed many times.
- Border
- this attribute places a border around an image.
- Dithering
- this can reduce the compressibility of the image. blending two colors among adjacent pixels to achieve a third color.
- GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
- 8-bit color and is the most common image format.
- bpp (bits per pixel)
- the bpp count determines how many colors an image con contain.
- Lossy Compression
- is used to store the image. every time it is compressed so bits of the image are lost because the human eye cannot distinguish such a small loss of data.
- Longdesc
- attribute that takes the logic behind the alt attribute one step further by a longer description of the image that is stored as an independent file.
- Lossless
- the quality of the image does not change through many conversions.
- PDF (Portable Data Format)
- images are created with a special expensive software package from Adobe called Acrobat.
-
(
)Centering Objects( ) - centers object within screen display.
- Plain GIF
- is a picture that looks like a snapshot.
