- Absorbtion
- The passage of soluble foods through a cell membrane.
- Digestion
- the life process in which food is broken-down into soluble (liquid form). Special chemicals called enzymes help to make the food soluble.
- Nutrition
- the life process of food-getting or food-making.
- Growth
- the process in which a living thing increases in size by using raw materials (food and water) to make more protoplasm.
- Excretion
- the process in which an organism gets ride of wastes. Living things have wastes in three forms: solid, liquid, gas.
